The bold, fierce woman stood on top of a New York City
skyscraper with a look on her face that said she was going to level
every skyscraper surrounding her. She waited with a look of impatience
for her enemies to arrive, but when they didn't meet her timely
patience, she sucked in a huge breath and a gust of wind and dangerous
soundwaves came out in the most melodic way, placing a glass window
crater on the side of the adjacent skyscraper. The smile that crept on
her face after her devious act was bonechilling and demanded the
respect of the inhabitants of New York City.
One small young man and his tall friend looked at the the
wreckage on the side of the skyscraper and then to the devious woman
who stood on top of the large glass tower and the smaller of the two
man turned to his taller friend and yelled, "That's a bad bitch der',
Baugh."
Baugh turned to his friend with a look that said, "Is you
crazy?", and he stated with a sense of urgency, "Nah Boosie, that's a
crazy bitch! I don't even know....why we are still!" His gestures
became more and more animated the longer he stayed next to deformed
skyscraper. "Why are we still here, Boosie? Why?"
Boosie smiled and looked upon the evil woman with a look
of bravery on his face and he said, "Cuz you know The Rogers' comin'.
I don't know what you scared fo'."
Baugh became exasperated and hissed, "There you go with
that Rogers shit."
Boosie became defensive and his voice rose an extra
octave, "What you mean?"
"You know you can't talk to me bout that Rogers shit. I
don't believe that shit til' I see that shit! These same motherfuckers
couldn't stop nothing from happening around where I'm from. These ol'
fake ass niggas. They only show up to shit when they want to. You fuck
around and go yo' whole lifetime and never see them motherfuckers."
"Damn daddy, you act like they shot yo' dog or
somethin'. You soundin' like a real girl right now. You want 'em to
personally save your life or something?"
"Man.....them niggas is not comin'!" Baugh shouted as
he begun to walk away from the direction of the woman with the
dangerous voice.
A confident smile appeared on Boosie's face and
when Baugh discovered that his friend had not budged he turned to add,
"Boosie.....they not coming!"
"You're right." His smile extended and he became
giddy. "They're here!"
A large group of young black men and women came
from the rooftop of the damaged building with a look of contempt on
their face. Their leader stepped up, and being the only one who was
deep powder blue with an aura that shone through the dark New York
night, and he spread his hands outward to collect the energy the air
provided. His long blue dreadlocks blew in the cold air and sparks
flew in the air surrounding the epic being known only as The Martian.
The Martian was easily the most recognizable out of all of the
superheroes with his intense blue glow and his seemingly impossible
amount of power. He crackled and the blue space flame trapped in his
epidermis shifted like tectonic plates on the earth's surface, giving
him a high intimidation factor.
The next one to stand beside him was a cool, calm character
with cold robotic eyes glazed with a metallic glow. He was known only
Boy Wonder. A victim of a fatal car accident, Boy Wonder was brought
back to life with the help of sone ingenious scientists from Canada
and with their expertise in nanotechnology and robotics, they built
him stronger than ever. With the grace of God and scientists, Boy
Wonder became superstring and superfast. He also became a master of
kinectic energy with a display of his awesome power cackling in his
open left hand. His villains knew trouble if his left eye changed to
the color green. They knew death was soon to come if his right glowed
purple.
Another came to the Martian's side, only her beauty
was so stunning that the villainous woman on the adjacent woman glowed
green with envy. She was known only as Barbie Doll and unlike her
name, there was nothing sweet about the woman who was adorned in
tight, black leather complete with a claw cladded right hand that
looked as though it could completely dismember any man who dare to
step against her. Her skills as a rogue assassin were a great asset to
The Rogers as her ninjaesque skills often kept her on top of her
enemies. The true meaning of beautiful but deadly.
Then another black man appeared by Boy Wonder's side and
the elements began to howl as he made his appearance. He was
Hurricane, master of the elements. The wind was his breath. Fire
burned in his soul. Water ran through his veins and the earth was his
slave. He was a master of all around him and a valued member of The
Rogers.
Then another appeared beside Barbie Doll, a gypsy of
sorts. She was equally as beautiful as Barbie Doll, but unlike Barbie
Doll, her beauty was something exotic. She reminded one of Cleopatra,
but unlike the queen of Egypt, Gyspy, her Rogers given name, held
powers of the mystics, allowing her to have great sorcerous powers.
She was another force to be reckoned with.
The last of The Rogers appeared in a cloud of smoke in
front of The Martian with a gas mask on. The illegitamater younger
brother of Barbie Doll, he possessed the same fighting abilities as
his sister, but unlike her, his capabilities surpassed hers because of
his ability to blend, better yet become the shadows. He was the master
of his ninja craft and very few assassins in the world would prove to
be equals.
And with that, The Rogers were a team of eclectic
superheroes, who separate, were a danger in itself, but together, they
were the super team known only as The Rogers. Roger that.
The Martian stepped to Shadow's side, grabbed his shoulder in
a brotherly fashion, and whispered, "Let's make this quick, love. We
got shows to do."
Shadow's raspy voice came out in a whisper as it struggled to
escape his gas mask. "Toon," Shadow looked toward a smiling Martian
and continued, "Do we really need all of us? I mean it's only Diva. As
much as she boasts about how powerful she is, she's really not that
special at all."
The Martian beamed and grasped his young friend's shoulder.
"You may be right, T. In reality, I only need you and Barbie Doll for
this one, but in the future, it's a must that you never underestimate
the enemy. But in this instance you are right." Shadow nodded his head
in agreement and ushered Barbie Doll to his side. The rest of The
Rogers followed, but The Martian held out his hand in a firm halt
motion, telling them all to stop. They all gave him a confused look as
The Martian began to explain in greater detail his plan. "This mission
doesn't take all of us, so everybody but me, Shadow, and Barbie Doll
is gonna go handle they business, respectively."
Gypsy stepped forward to speak. "But....."
"No, Gypsy. We're gonna handle this. If I am not mistaken
there is a very important meeting you, yourself are supposed to be
keeping ain't you?"
A jealous smile crept on Barbie Doll's face as contempt for
the beautiful woman filled her heart. She hated to see Gypsy receive
any attention from The Martian. Then compassion swept over The Martian
as he reappeared in front of Gypsy with his true face on, and that
once quiet monster that been hiding inside of her was a raging green
eyed behemoth and she turned her head away from the two.
Gypsy's soft hand ran across The Martian's natural face.
She felt the rifts in his skin, touching the bright blue diamond like
substance embedded in hos skin with care, making sure not to hurt
herself or him. When her hands did touch his face, she felt a peace
like none other, and in that particular moment, everything was right
in the world. There was no Alluminatti, The Rogers' sworn enemy. There
wasn't even a need for The Rogers. It was only her and him. She leaned
up to place her lips on his, and when their lips touched, it was like
their first kiss, with sparks flying between both of them and a
natural chemistry forming between the two as though they were hydrogen
an oxygen. And then she was gone and the rest of The Rogers followed
suite. The Martian's mask returned back to his face and he knew then
that it was time for battle.
Diva stood on the skyscraper, waiting for the theatrics to
be over. Her folded arms reeked of defiance as only three of The
Rogers stood to face her. She almost felt disrespected, almost, but
unlike Shadow, she knew better than to underestimate them. "I hope
your little show is over, because now it is time for my own solo." She
sucked in a deep breath and all those who were standing on that
building were gone before the soundwaves crashed into the building.
Shadow appeared behind Diva but when he reached for her shoulders, she
reached behind her, grabbing nothing but air. Shadow had disappeared
once again.
Barbie Doll had reappeared in front of Diva with her claws
extended and when Diva saw Barbie Doll, she plunged her claws deep
into her stomach. Diva slumped over Barbie Doll's hand and her blood
ran freely over Barbie Doll's claw as Barbie Doll looked over the body
in her clawed hand with a dangerous smile and begun to laugh while The
Martian stared horrified at the sight of seeing his once rogue
assassin become unrouge.
