The same red headed young man stood on another roof watching the populace below. He watched them crowd around the beautiful, electric Hard Rock Cafe, dressed in the latest fashions, hoping to escape the trials and tribulations of modern life. But red headed man knew there was no escape from the modern evil. He knew it lurked somewhere around him, haunting the unsuspecting, fearless bunch who would risk their lives all for a good time. They were young, but then again, so was he. He wondered why he couldn't enjoy the same pleasures of reckless abandonment and blissful ignorance that his generation shared. "He could take care of anything that came at his way." He thought as he watched a couple of young urban men fight over a girl who in his heart, knew she wasn't worth fighting over. When he seen that they weren't infected by the evil, he continued to wander in his own thoughts. He thought to himself, "Why was I under the pressure I'm under? Why was it so necessary that I be the hero?" He shook his head and rubbed his spiked hair, until the hairs on the back of his neck stood up on end. Someone was behind him, but he didn't sense the Evil Virus. "Was this a trick?" He thought. "Some kind of evil ploy used to catch me off guard." He decided he wasn't going to take that chance. He turned around in a battle stance fitting for a warrior of his caliber only to find Gun Man standing with an assault rifle and a smile, holding one of his hands up, engaging in a wave.
"Wassup?" Gun Man to give his friendliest wave to the man he deemed could be the dangerous man in Nashville, or at least the most mysterious one. He walked over to the red head man with his hand out in greeting. He was still cautious of the red head because he saw the red head's fists clenched with a fury that couldn't be described by words. "You dude who jumped on them polices with us huh?" He stretched his arm out to shake the red head's hand. "I'm Gun Man."
The red head raised an eyebrow. "Gun Man? What kind of name is that?"
Gun Man just laughed it off, avoiding confrontation with a potentially powerful ally. "I been a Gun my whole life, man." Gun Man placed his hand low in the air and then moved it up to show growth, "Went from a Gun Boy to a Gun Man."
The red head shook his head and laughed, "I guess." The red head held out his hand to embrace Gun Man's, "I'm Nic Angel."
Gun Man's face squenched in confusion. Then a smile eroded on his face. "Nic Angel?" He shook his head facisiously.
Nic Angel shook his head and laughed, recognizing the mannerisms he had just displayed toward Gun Man. "Yeah, it's a play off of Cris Angel's name."
Gun Man laughed loudly and put his fists on his hips in a heroic pose. "So you some kind of magician, dog?"
Nic just turned around and continued to look down on the populace. Gun Man's smile fell to a look of curiousity and he took his hands off of his hips. He joined Nic on the edge of the skyscraper and looked down at the populace. He wondered what it was Nic was looking at. He didn't see nothing but ants scrambling into the Hard Rock Cafe. He looked at Nic's profile to study the young man and in his mind, one word floated into his thoughts: intense. "I ain't no magician, friend. Just a boy who tryna find his place in the world."
Gun Man looked down and he smirked. "What you see when you look down there, Nic?"
Nic Angel looked down and saw the hordes of people flocking toward the Hard Rock Cafe, emerged in the scene of downtown Nashville. He saw the smiles on the young's faces, the happiness in the heart's of the old, and the life juice flooding all throughout the streets of Nashville. He looked at the profile of Gun Man and his eyes surveyed his young face. He looked back to the crowd and answered, "I see life. I see something that I should be a part of but because of these powers, I'm forced to be an outcast. I could never be accepted by normal people, all they know is that I'm infected by the Evil Virus, and there's nothing I can do about it."
His somber face only made Gun Man laugh. He had thought that Nic Angel was some sort of Evil infected deity, but he was just a young man filled with questions, just like so many of the people he knew. Only difference was that Nic's responsibility was a lot larger than most. There was a chance that he could be the leader to a new world order, one where the Evil Virus was a thing of the past and Nashville became a thing of the past. Gun Man knew his purpose in life. He had inspired many to follow the way of the righteuous. He placed his arm around Nic and he asked him, "You know what I see when I look down there?" Nic looked into Gun Man's large brown eyes with a questioning look. "To be truthful, I can't see a thing down. All those people you see.....man, they just ants to me. Truthfully when I'm this high up, I don't feel no responsibility. No pressure. I'm free from all of that because those seemingly small insignificant beings down there can't reach me from way up here. But you know something, I'm from there. I'm from Franklin, the bottom, and I've risen from the bottom to the top. But you know what? You know that dude Chevy? He was driving the car that picked us up. Well, he's afraid of heights. He hates heights matter of fact. He ain't never took a trip on a plane, never rode a rollercoaster, nothing. He always been on the ground with those so-called insignificant people. So even though I'm able to visit this sanctuary, how could I call myself a man if I simply just leave my brother down there? The same man whose family took me in after my pops was killed. What about my best friend? What about her sister, a girl who reminds me so much of the sister I once had? The girl who I was forced to kill because of the Evil that overtook her. Do I just forget about them, and leave them down there?" Nic looked down on the populace, understanding fully what Gun Man was preaching. "The way I see it, God gave me a purpose. I'm here to help my fellow man. It's what pops would've wanted. My Sissy Gun too. So if I don't do this hero thing for anything else, then I gotta do it for my baby. I gotta do it for the Gun family, ya' understand."
"But what do you do to deal with the pressure, Gun Man? You seem like an expert on this whole hero deal."
Gun Man laughed loudly, "I don't see no pressure. We got gifts man. Besides, God'll never put you in a situation that you can't handle, and we are built to handle situations that most can't even fathom. The easiest thing to do would be to give up, but I can't do that. It's not in me to give up. This is what I was born to do, homie, prolly what you was born to do, man, but you gotta realize that in order to do any good, son. On the real."
Nic took in all that Gun Man had told him, and he contemplated his place in the world while staring down at the populace below. The decision to become infected was not his own. His past was not his own either. He did not ask to have his hometown transformed into a town full of zombies addicted to the advanced drugs of his time. He didn't make the choice to see his best friends turn into pill zombies. He didn't make the choice to see the remains of his best friend's infant son on their floor after they made a dinner of him. He didn't choose to see his entire family killed in a house fire, including his baby sister. The Evil made that choice for him.
As he stood looking over the skyscraper into the crowd, he saw the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville. He surveyed the crowd of smiles and he thought to himself, "I didn't make the choice to be different." But then he saw a young man on bended knee in front of a beautiful young woman and a smile crept on his face. He always liked to see a young woman in love, but then he saw a large group of gangbangers descending onto them. He saw the panic in the young couple's eyes and at that moment he knew, at this precise moment, he had a choice to make. One that he and only he can make. He didn't even look at Gun Man. He just simply said, "Let's go."
Gun Man smiled. "That's what I'm talking about. Let's get it." Nic Angel ran on the side of the skyscraper at speeds that left the wind collected on the side of building trying to keep up with Nic Angel's velocity. Gun Man just jumped from off of the building yelling, "Gun Wings!!!!!" in a high pitched voice, while his assault rifle transformed into two large pistols that grew metallic wings at the middle of the barrels as Gun Man descended at an impossible rate. The feeling of flight was unlike anything Gun Man had ever felt in his life. Better than sex. Better than weed. It was a feeling of falling completely away from stress and falling into a reality where everything made sense. Where everything was right.
The young man stood close to his wife, ready to defend her with his very life. In their eyes lay no hope, that was until they heard a gust of wind that made the gangbangers shudder and the couple turn around. Gun Man flapped his gun wings and the energy from the metallic wings not only propelled him safely into the air. He shot pellots of smoke screen toward the gangbangers before he fell softly on his feet in front of the couple. Nic Angel jumped from the side of the skyscraper in an acrobatic display of flips and landed behind the gangbangers. The young couple took this as a sign to escape as fast as they could. Let the monsters battle the monsters.
As the smoke moved closer toward Gun Man, one of his gun wings transformed into a gun sword, with the blade shedding the metallic feathers into thin air. Gun Man cleared the smoke with one swoop of his gun blade, and when his face was revealed, the gangbangers looked at Gun Man hungrily, the leader licking his lips as though Gun Man were an ice cream sandwich. Gun Man just smiled. Nic Angel was still disguised under the guise of the smoke so the gangbangers advanced toward Gun Man. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
The gangbangers simply continued their stroll toward Gun Man and the closer they got, the more Gun Man noticed the tattoos each one of the gangbangers wore. He knew then that these weren't the ordinary gangbangers. He shouted out, "Demons.", and Nic Angel emerged from the smoke with his fists clenched, ready to battle. The leader let out a demonic roar and Gun Man's gun sword and gun wing transformed into two beautiful chrome revolvers complete with extended clips. He aimed at the leader who began to transform immediately into some sort of demonic wolf. The leader's claws grew tremendous and the scaly hairy skin reflected in the moonlight the same way steel would have and he lunged toward Gun Man.
Gun Man saw that two other gangbangers transformed into as well, one a completely amphibian being with three large vestricles on the side of its neck shooting out acid missles and the other one a smaller replica of the leader, no doubt his younger brother. He shot the two lackeys but missed as he received a punch to the stomach that sent him flying into the crowded street. The populace outside of the alley began to panic, knowing that anybody flying into the street at that rate of speed was being attacked by a something possessed by the Evil Virus. People ran all around Gun Man as he rolled into a crouching position, aiming his two beautiful chrome pistols toward the alleyway. He wanted to shoot but something told him to wait until he had a clear shot. He waited until one of the gangbangers flew toward him. He shot at the vicious looking gangbanger who had transformed into the shark like hybrid complete with legs, fins on his back and forearms, and a vicious set of teeth. But to no avail, the shark man simply swam through the air and pounced on Gun Man. He rolled backwards and flung the shark man with his feet. While the shark man was flying in the air, Gun Man shot the shark man while he was coming up from off of his back. The shark man flew into one of the neon lit guitars guarding the Hard Rock Cafe.
When Gun Man stood on his feet he noticed Nic Angel walking confidently away from the alley. When he seen Nic, he thought that he had taken care of the rest of the gangbangers, but when they emerged out of the alley, he thought they were demons escaping from the greatest depths of hell.
They rushed into the public, their demonic appearances causing mass hysteria among the people in the streets. Only Gun Man and Nic Angel were the only ones who stood calm among the hysteria. One gangbanger attempted to run past Nic but he socked him in its large demonicly deformed mouth and it flew into the street unconcious, reverting back to his human form, his jaw hanging broken. Gun Man looked at the hurt man and shot him in his chest to make sure that gangbanger never got back up again. The rest of the monsters roared loudly in anger, feeling the loss of their comrade. Gun Man simply smiled, waiting for the fight. The demon with the huge ventricles coming from its neck shot acid missles all around Gun Man. At first he was confused as to why the missles didn't even touch him, that was until he realized that the acid missles were meant to melt the ground around, causing him to lose footing and become off balanced. The ground he stood on sunk a few inches but that was just enough to make take a couple steps back, a couple steps he wasn't planning on taking. The leader lunged at him with his ferocious claws set on attack and one of the revolvers Gun Man held transformed into a gun sword, just in time to guard against the claws impeding attack. The demon's attack was strong, especially with Gun Man only guarding it with one arm, but he was smarter than the gangbanger. He took one of the revolvers and aimed it at the demons abdomen. He took fire, crippling the leader instantly. The demon shook under the power of the massive shell. Its attack weakened and he was able to push the claw back at its owner, sending another shot into the demon's clavicle. The leader roared and surprised Gun Man with a front kick to the chest, sending him right through the front doors of the Hard Rock Cafe. On the way into the cafe, Gun Man sent the fatal shot into the leader's heart, bringing him to his knees. The leader fell face first to the ground, black blood leaving his mouth, soaking into its teeth and into the street. He reverted back into his human form, and even though his muscles were still larger than the average man's, in his human form, it felt as though he was weaker than the people who Gun Man and Nic Angel sought to protect.
After witnessing his brother meet death at the hands of Gun Man, he went beserk. The Evil took over him in a way that was unfathomable. He grew three times larger than he already was and the brown hair that was once on his scaly skin was now growing into a pure driven snow white. His eyes had turned the same camoflauging color, making it impossible to distinguish the whites of his eyes with his pupils. There was no turning back for him now. He had become the alpha male and his rage and been completed with a roar. His fellows gang members knew to clear out and follow Gun Man into the crowded club as Nic stood face to face with a demon whom he had thought had only existed in the bleakest of imaginations.
The Gun Man flew over the tables that held laughing groups of young men and women, through the cigarette and marijuana smoke, and onto the stage that housed a couple of nicely dressed hip hop artists complete with gaudy jewelry and over the top personalities. When they saw Gun Man headed their way, one of them moved out of the way, while the taller one with dreads and a massive amount of tattoos attempted to catch Gun Man. He only succeeded in getting knocked into the DJ booth, causing the music to switch from rap to old school R & B circa 2080. Gun Man got up and helped the large man up with a huge grin on his face. "Oh s***, you 2 Chain, dog!!!", Gun Man exclaimed.
2 Chain got up and brushed himself off. He calmly held his hand out, and Gun Man gave him a once over, even more amazed that 2 Chain was wearing Baby Gun's clothing line. 2 Chain smiled and shook Gun Man's hand in a way that hadn't been seen in almost forty years. "Wassup, folk?"
"Aint nothin' gangsta."
2 Chain shook his dreads and pointed behind Gun Man. Gun Man looked behind him and saw a mass of demons butchering through the crowd as innocent bystanders attempted to stampede out of the club. Gun Man took one last look at 2 Chains and offered him a smile. "Duty calls.", he said with a smirk and with that his revolvers aimed at the demon shooting acid missles at unsuspecting victims, melting men and women alike in the mob of people trying to get past the front door. Gun Man steadied his aim and took fire, piercing through the heart of the monster and changing him back to his now deceased human form. The rest of the monsters looked at their now deceased comrade and charged through the crowd, thowing men and women aside to get closer to their enemy. Gun Man's revolvers turned into large automatic pistols and opened fire with a vicious roar of his own.
Outside of the cafe, Nic watched the transformation complete itself, and the finished product was a monster that reeked of destruction. Nic smiled at the welcomed challenge of an unforgettable foe. The monster shed its last tear as an eery voice crept out of its large larynx. "Your friend killed my brother and yet you stand in my way of killing my only adversary. Why?"
Nic smiled, remembering the advice that Gun Man had given him. "Because I choose to."
"Well then you choose to die!!!!", the demon roared loudly toward the moon. He ran toward the confident Nic in track form, full speed. When he was close enough to claw at the young red headed man, he dwarfed Nic three times over. He cocked his claw back, only to receive a vicious fist to the face. He retaliated with his other claw, sending Nic airborne. "Your body is like steel." The demon licked his sharp teeth hungrily as Nic landed on his feet, examining the wound on his chest and abs. He was just as surprised as the monster to see the blood trickle from his chest. "But you still bleed like a man, and I am man no more."
Nic smiled as he thought about a fabled character from over a hundred years ago he had studied in school. "Okay Yoda. Let's see if you could do it again. I welcome the potential for damage! Prove to me that I am still human!"
"I will eat you boy!" The monster ran toward Nic with his mouth wide open, monstrous tongue sweating saliva, waiting for the taste of Nic's blood. Nic Angel ran toward the monster and avoided the attempt of the demon to close the toothy cage of his mouth around Nic. Instead, Nic's fist found its home in the demon's torso. He lifted the demon an inch off of the ground, leaving the demon wheezing for air. The demon quickly recovered, and tried to grab Nic with both of his clawed hands. Succeeding, he threw Nic into one of the neon lit guitars that guarded the door, causing the guitar that was the same size as the demon to fall before the entrance of the cafe, crushing a few of the innocent bystanders with its massive weight. Nic rolled away, body electrified and in pain. The demon pounced on Nic's back, cracking his back under the impact. Nic screamed out in pain as the demon slashed at his back with a furious vengence that would make any man regret his to help his brother in arms.
Inside of the cafe, Gun Man was surrounded by mass hysteria as he ran on the wall with his gun sword ready to taste the acidic blood of the gangbangers. He jumped off of the wall into a backflip and shot at the most human looking demon he saw. The demon was beautiful with long flowing white hair and purple eyes. But Gun Man did not underestimate the young demon. He knew the demon was not to be played with, and his point was proven when the demon sliced the bullets out of the air with his long, thin blade. Gun Man's other revolver changed into a lightweight automatic shotgun and blasted the demon who had tried to chomp his large teeth in Gun Man's broad shoulders square in the chest, sending the demon's human form into the bystanders heading for the exit doors. The demon with the thin blade just stood still as his demonic brothers met opposition by way of gun sword and shotgun, and when there was only the purple eyed demon and Gun Man standing face to face, Gun Man studied the demon's purple eyes, rcalling his father's advice. "Know your enemy, study his strong points as well as his weak ones and never fight him in his terms, especially if he is the stronger opponent." Gun Man did just that. He looked at his confident battle stance. His angry glare. He knew the demon was faster than his brethren. More than likely he was stronger too. An expert at close range combat, intelligent, and unafraid to tear Gun Man apart. To Gun Man he there seemed to be no weak point on this monster. He seemed like he was in total control of his power and unafraid to use it. This would prove to be an unforgettable opponent.
While Gun Man was assessing his opponent, Nic was too busy receiving gashes on his back. He squinted in pain and grunted. An electric current glided across his face, revealing the device on his face to be the earpiece of the future. He winced in pain and whispered, "Smartz! I need you!"
Flying beside a nearby building, a beautiful, Latina answered the call. "Aye papi, I'm coming." Her speed increased ten fold, zipping through the air with the wind howling against her skin. Her sparkling brown eyes were driven to the Hard Rock Cafe. Before she knew it, she had saw the huge demon on top of her friend and went into a nosedive until she smashed against the demon that stood on top of him.
The demon recovered and Smartz stood up in front of him with a smile, battle stance ready. The demon stood in a three point stance and growled hungrily, licking his massive set of teeth. "Yum, strong and beautiful, mami. I guess I will have a tasty snack tonight, huh senorita?"
She shook her head with a playful smirk. "So it's a snack you want, ay papi?" She placed one of her toned arms behind her, giving the demon her most innocent face, complemented by her school girl outfit. Below her left hand, a blue firebomb hovered just barely beneath her touch. Deception had been the key to her success. The demon had no idea what was going on behind her back, but he would find out soon enough. She threw the firebomb with the reflexes of a striking cobra and yelled, "Here you go! All you can eat devil's brew!"
The demon's grew to the size of the moon when he saw the blue flame headed in his direction. He wanted to move, but it was as though he were a deer staring in the face of a pair of headlights that spelled certain doom. The flame singed the hairs on its face and the demon grabbed its face, shrieking in pain.
Back inside of the cafe, Gun Man fought off his own demon with his gun sword. Despite the advice that his father had offered, Gun Man found himself cornered by the better close range fighter. Gun Man ran all over the walls and under the tables to avoid the sharp blade of injustice. "Dude, I'm not playin' wit' chu! Leave me alone!" Gun Man shot wildly with his lone revolver, but to no avail. The demon simply sliced the bullets into pieces and continued his relentless attack. While running, Gun Man ducked behind one of the knocked over tables. His phone vibrated inside of his pocket. He quickly pulled the sleek phone out of his pocket and he answered, "Yoooooo, Chevy! Wassup!?"
"What you doin', man? Where you at?"
Gun Man inhaled deeply and then he answered, "Wellllll...." He took a breath through his teeth and continued, "I'm kinda busy right now, dog."
Just then the demon sliced through the table, causing Gun Man's eyes to bulge out of his head. Gun Man jumped inches off of the ground. "Gotta go. Tell Kristen I love her and tell Killa to uh.....kill. K? Bye!"
Chevy looked at the phone and looked at Lady Gun and Gun Baby and simply said, "I think Brody in trouble."
Lady Gun looked at Baby Gun, with Baby Gun forming an exquisite assault rifle with a blade on the barrel. She materialized her own revolver and turned her head back to Chevy. She spun the bullet cartridge and asked Chevy, "So we what do we do?"
Gun Man rolled away from the blade and shot blindly at the demon. Gun Man was growing nervous. "I can't hit this guy. Everytime I shoot at him, he just slices the bullets away."
"I bet you're thinking, 'Geez, how do I hit someone who my eyes can't follow? How do I kill somebody that even bullets can't touch?' The answer is, you can't, mijo. You interuppted my initiation into the Thirteen. You killed my brothers, who I loved very much. You driven poor Menito to insanity." The demon licked his blade slowly, missing the taste of blood on the rapier. His walk was terrifying as Gun Man looked for a way out of the cafe. He couldn't run out of the exit doors since the demon blocked it with his path. The large neon guitar blocked the main entrance. Gun Man was trapped with no way out but through the demon. He glared in the purple eyes and for the first time in a long time, fear struck his heart. "Before I kill you, chico, I want you to know my name. Me llamo es los ojos morados, my name is Purple Eyes, and they will be the last eyes you will ever see. The eyes of le mejor asesino." His demonic smile was not reassuring to Gun Man. He looked around frantically as Purple Eyes grew closer and closer. Then his eyes locked on the once flickering neon lit guitar and an idea popped into Gun Man's head. He smiled as his gun sword and revolver meshed into one large rocket launcher and pointed it at Purple Eyes. Purple Eyes stopped dead in his tracks. That eery smile never left his face though. "Mijo, do you honestly think that's going to stop me? Usted asta loco, if bullets couldn't touch me, what makes you think that a grenade can?"
Gun Man smiled and that smile made Purple Eyes suspect an alterior motive. "Who said that this grenade was supposed to hit you?" Gun Man took aim at the guitar, knowing he would have more of an advantage in a more open space, but before he could pull the trigger, Menito came crashing through the guitar. Gun Man jumped, "Oh, what is going on!?" Purple Eyes stood erect watching his friend roll over in pain. Then, both Gun Man and Purple Eyes looked past the wreckage and saw the beautiful, stout Smartz standing on the opposite side. She caught both Purple Eyes and Gun Man's attention. "Daaaaaaaaammmmmmmnnnnnn! Who is that!?"
A scowl appeared on Purple Eyes' face when he saw his fallen brethren. "Someone who is about to die!"
Purple Eyes struck the wind with his sword, adding emphasis to the impending attack. Before he could charge outside to meet with the opposition, Menito rose fluttering his eyes. When those pure white eyes saw Gun Man, he roared angrily. "You are the one that killed my brother!!!! Now you dieeeeee!!!!"
Gun Man shook his head and exclaimed, "I just can't catch a break from y'all!" He took aim and fired the missle directly at Menito. Purple Eyes reacted with the speed of wind, slicing the rocket shell in half. When his blade met the missle, it exploded on impact of the blade creating a smoke screen that could prove as a distraction for Gun Man's escape. He bolted toward the front door, using Menito's head as a catapult into the air. He landed behind Smartz, guns transforming back into his trademark automatic pistols. He saw Nic lying on the ground and rushed to his aid. "Nic, Nic!? You okay, man!?" Nic groaned and Gun Man laughed. "I bet you weren't thinking it would turn out like this when we first jumped off of that building were you?"
Smartz turned her and reached into the small, pink backpack she wore. She found a spray can and tossed it to Gun Man. "Spray this on his back. It's liquid bandaging and should heal the gashes on his back."
Gun Man caught the spray and knelt beside Nic, studying every curve on the young woman's body. "Thanks pretty lady."
"Charming, but just call me Smartz."
Gun Man smiled. "Smartz it is." His charm gave way to the urgent need to help his new friend out. He sprayed the substance on Nic's back and watched, amazed that the wounds on his back heal almost instantaneously. "Wow, this stuff really works doesn't it?"
Nic jumped up, energized, and answered, "Yep. Smartz always comes through when you need her."
She turned half of her body and gave a thumbs up to Nic. Gun Man leaned over to Nic's ear and whispered, "Man, she fine, homie."
Nic turned his head and startedto whisper something else but was cut short when he saw Menito and Purple Eyes exit slowly from the smoke in an old action hero fashion. When his green eyes set on Purple Eyes, he asked in a low voice, "Who is that?"
"Oh yeah!" Gun Man exclaimed while punching Nic Angel in his arm, "How you gon' make me fight against one of the Thirteen man!? That's some straight bull...."
"How was I supposed to know?" Nic attempted to explain while rubbing his arm. "I don't even know what The Thirteen is."
Gun Man gasped. "How you not know who The Thirteen is?"
Nic Angel just shook his head. "I just don't know okay? Ow! And how come you hit me so hard!?"
Gun Man laughed and smiled, "My bad homie, I got bad reactions sometimes."
Nic just gave him a look of disbelief and disregarded it as one of Gun Man's many quirks. "So anyways, who is this Thirteen or whatever?"
"Man, they're supposed to be the descendents of some Mexican Mafia from the past or something. Supposedly there are thirteen head members of the gang that kill for pleasure and to sustain their life. They don't eat, don't sleep just kill. I ain't never seen't one but from what I heard they're absolutely nuts, and they don't die easy." Gun Man pointed to Purple Eyes, "And he was going through some kind of initiation before we rudely interrupted him. He mad behind it too yeah."
Smartz turned around and with a smug tongue, asked Gun Man, "Is you scared, I mean if you scared, you can go home and leave this up to the professionals."
Gun Man's face twisted into a scowl. "Don't bring no scared business to me. My name's Gun Man, hammer cocked, not Safety!"
Purple Eyes leaped off of his feet and with his sword way above his head, he brought it down, hoping to introduce the blade to the top of Gun Man's head. "Then show me, Gun Man!" Even Smartz was surprised Purple Eyes' speed. She didn't even know he had moved from his spot, much less jumped behind her. Now she understood Gun Man's fear of the demon.
Gun Man jumped out of the way of the blade and shot wildly hoping to distract the demon with the blind shots. To no avail, the battle began once again. At that moment, a legion of police officers arrived with their guns drawn on the trio. "All of you stand down, or we will open fire!" The captain had his sights set on Smartz and it was then that her opponent was chosen.
She shook her, disappointed in the law enforcement agency that sought to bring the heroes. She reached her small, pink bookbag and pulled out a hilt of a dangerous baton. When the baton expanded, it glowed with electric potency, surging with an energy that would break down any barrier and she continued her walk toward the police officers.
Nic had also chosen his opponent. He looked deep into the pure white eyes of Menito and decided that he would not underestimate his opponent again. Menito glared at Nic, waiting for him to make his next move. When that move didn't come he lunged with its claws drawn, aiming for Nic's throat. It swung wildly, missing by inches as Nic simply moved his head. It was clear to Menito that this was a different adversary that he had faced earlier. This one had conviction. This was a man who said he would not lose again.
While Nic was making a fool of Menito, Gun Man was still trying to figure out how he was going to defeat Purple Eyes. He had already determined that close range fighting was not an option, yet his bullets weren't quick enough to even touch the graceful being. All he could do was make sure that his offense was better than his attack.
He dodged and parried Purple Eyes attack, but it was as if his attacks became faster with every stroke of his blade. Gun Man tried every weapon variation he could think of as he rolled past Purple Eyes' blade and ducked behind abandoned vehicles. When his blade came close enough to shave the minute hairs on Gun Man's face, he transformed the automatic pistols in his hands to propeling energy blasters and shot at the ground, leaving craters by Purple Eyes' feet. It was then when a blast of inspiration came to Gun Man's mind. Gun Man smiled as he centered his mind. He breathed in a deep breath, and formed a stance similar to that of the Renaissance Man. He closed his eyes and in a moment of concentration, a strange dark light came over his body. Purple Eyes' stopped his assault on Gun Man to observe the phenomenon that was happening in front of him. It was like being a skeptic watching an illusionist perform a magic trick. He didn't want to believe what he was seeing. But then he just took it as Gun Man showing his true form. "So this is your true form, huh? Good. I was wondering how long I was going to have to chase you around until you revealed your verdadero yo, your true self." They both smiled, as long electrical currents began to run all over Gun Man's body. As strange, dark reddish metal began to cover his body, Gun Man looked up to the sky with a smile, thanking his inspiration personally. The metal ran all over his body until it completely covered every inch of his epidermis. His eyes became a demonic yellow and his once innocent smile was now filled with teeth that looked like they were filed to their sharpest points. What at first looked like open sores popping up on his arms and legs became pools of energy that glowed with an essence of power and intimidation. Those same pools of energy appeared on the bottom of his feet and in the palms of his hands and with that his transformation was complete.
Smartz had her hands filled dodging bullets and parrying a barrage of batons similar to her own. But with her powers, she was making short work of the police officers. But their mas numbers were becoming a problem for her, attempting to dog pile the young woman. She called out for Nic but his hands were full with Menito.
Gun Man looked past Purple Eyes' and laughed to himself. "Whose the professional now?" Purple Eyes' turned his head and looked at Smartz being overcome by the sheer numbers of the policemen. He looked back at Gun Man and with one hand on his hip and a confident swagger, he asked the demon, "Let me go help this girl out real quick before we have our fun."
Purple Eyes turned his head again to see the young girl fighting for her life against the police and a rage erupted in his heart. As much as he wanted to deny Gun Man's request, there was nothing he hated more than the police. He turned his head back to Gun Man and smiled. He stepped to the side to let Gun Man past. Gun Man knew he would. Even though they were enemies for now, they both were on the wrong side according to authorities. The pools of energy on Gun Man's body glowed and propelled to the sight of the fight, surprising Purple Eyes with his newfound speed. He smiled, hoping that this new Gun Man would put up more of a fight then the previous Gun Man.
Gun Man swooped down and scooped Smartz from the pile of police officers grasping on her and with the pool of energy bubbling in his palm, he blasted the police officers. He placed Smartz on the ground and she stared, entranced by Gun Man's new armor. He smiled, knowing that she was admiring his new form. His demeanor was still as cool as a cucumber. He simply said, "Go help Nic!"
She nodded her head and took to the air. Purple Eyes just watched her glide into to air. Blades retracted from Gun Man's wrists reaching all the way down to his elbow. That same demonic smile appeared on his face, and Purple Eyes saw that this was going to be fun for Gun Man, and in that instant, he decided he wanted to have that same amount of fun.
While Gun Man was tossing policemen to the side as if they were children, Purple Eyes watched the poetic movement of Gun Man in wonder. It was as if he were watching a masterpiece being painted. He turned his head to see Menito being punished by Nic, and even though Menito looked as though he needed his assistance, he couldn't help wanting to be apart of the more fun fray. His warrior instinct told him he wanted to be a part of that same fray.
Purple Eyes charged forward with a battle cry that sounded like a eagle crying out before swooping down on its prey. As Gun Man was fighting off the unjust police officers, Purple Eyes swooped down with his blade. Even though his entrance into the fight was quick, his blade still met the resistance of Gun Man's forearm blades. Purple Eye's jumped back with his blade in hand, making light work of the five police officers that tried to surround him. His smile was deliciously evil. His eyes pierced through the policemen with an enjoyed hatred. Gun Man blasted other officers off of him with energy blasts from his palms, stunning them. He looked at the surrounding policemen and the hatred in Purple Eyes, and he realized he was the only thing that seperated the policemen from certain death.
While Gun Man had his eyes full with the corrupt police officers and Purple Eyes, Nic Angel was making light work of Menito, using his sizeable acrobatic expertise to make Menito look like a white haired jungle gym. Even though Menito dwarfed Nic Angel in size, Nic used the size difference to his advantage. Dodging Menito's massive claws was easy for Nic Angel. Smartz jumped in the fray, even though her powers wasn't really necessary. They were diminishing Menito to his weakest state in a poetic way. They weaved in and out of each other, laying body damaging blows on the demon.
Purple Eyes also found himself in a conundrum as he found out the hard way that police officers and Gun Man were a lot harder to fight than he originally thought. Gun Man was ten times stronger than he had been and the policemen were doubling in numbers. No matter how police officers he had killed, Gun Man knocked him back saving the same amount two fold. Gun Man was getting in the way of his killing and when you are a aspiring member of The Thirteen, that was an unforgivable sin.
Purple Eyes lunged at Gun Man again with his blade over his head, ready to strike a killing blow. But when Gun Man caught his blade with both hands, he also caught Purple Eyes' attention. Gun Man stripped the blade from his hands and kicked Purple Eyes backwards. Gun Man smiled while examining the blade. He looked at Purple Eyes in approval, "Nice blade. Lightweight. Sexy." He laughed with all of his sharp teeth showing. His yellow eyes glowed with an electric current as they surveyed the blade. "I guess its mine now huh?"
Purple Eyes looked down with his eyes closed and he shook his head. "Afraid not, por favor." He snapped his fingers, and mystically, his blade appeared back in his hands. Gun Man looked in his hands and saw that the blade was gone. He looked back into the eyes of Purple Eyes and clapped his hands together. "Wow....you have just officially stole my heart wit' that move there. That was so cool man. Even though I don't like you that much, I will give you yo' props on that trick, homie."
Purple Eyes smiled. "Thank you, amigo."
Gun Man returned to his battle stance and asked, "Shall we begin?"
Purple Eyes struck the air with his sword, sending electric shocks through the air. He ran toward Gun Man and his blade continued to exchange blows against Gun Man's forearm blades. Gun Man's speed was matched by Purple Eyes' own swiftness as they battled in a battlefield of police officers. Neither one of them landed a blow that would shift the fight to their momentum. Needless to say that the two were very evenly matched, both pushing off police officers as they charged in with their electrified batons. While Gun Man was busy disarming the police officers, his opponent's blade found homes in the bodies of their assailants. The cries of pain from the police officers shook Gun Man to his core. An energy boiled in his palms and he released a fiery blast into Purple Eyes' stomach. Purple Eyes attempted to deflect the blast like he had done many times before with Gun Man's bullets, but he soon discovered that an energy blast was not the same thing as bullets. His stomach singed with the burns of the flame. He knew then that the man he faced now was an entirely different beast than the one he had faced before. This was a new breed of destruction. A new breed of warrior.
He looked at Menito being destroyed slowly by Nic and Smartz, and he shook his head in disappointment. "And to think you were supposed to take me hunting." He thought to himself. "Oh well." He placed his blade back into its matephysical sheath and he knew then that he had to continue his battle with Gun Man another time when they were more....alone. "Well, mijo, I think it's my time to take my leave. We will continue this real soon this I can promise you. The Thirteen will be really interested in hearing about you, friend." And with that, he was gone, and now all the police officers' attention was placed on Gun Man.
He turned his head and looked at the downed Menito and smiled as he saw Smartz and Nic standing over the body. He nodded his head at the two, signaling to the two that it was time for them to make their exit. Gun Man blasted at the ground, propelling himself in the air, taking flight in the midnight sky with bullets following closely behind him.
Nic Angel and Smartz looked at each other and Nic whispered, "So should we take Gun Man's lead and leave?" Her angelic smile caught Nic's attention and she offered her to Nic. He took her soft fingers in his hand and flight came instantly. She flew through the midnight air and Nic felt the wieghtlessness of the air as the pessure he once felt to make a decision as to what he was going to do fell to the ground. He knew now the role he played as the hero of many, and as long as he was able to help one, his heart felt as though he helped many.
